Again ache and oedematous Schmorl node: a diagnostic dilemma.

Summary
A 26-year-old feminine from India introduced with progressive, unremitting low again ache for over 1?yr. She had been handled unsuccessfully for left-sided sacroiliitis, pelvic flooring dysfunction, ankylosing spondylitis and seronegative spondyloarthritis. MRI lumbar backbone confirmed a Schmorl node with surrounding marrow oedema at L4, the relevance of which isn’t clear in literature. One yr after preliminary presentation, a biopsy of this lesion revealed tradition optimistic prognosis of spinal tuberculosis. Regardless of advances in imaging, delayed prognosis shouldn’t be unusual in spinal tuberculosis (TB). In our case, it was additionally attributed to an unknown early lesion: Schmorl node with surrounding oedema. Any affiliation of this lesion with spinal TB has beforehand not been reported.
